Nutrition: From the Fitness Makeover Kit, Part 3: Nutrition. What percentage of nutrients do you need and what are you eating?  Many people are suprised to find that they can have more carbohydrates in their caloric intake than they thought! Unfortunately, most take in less protein than they need!  Take a day to write down what you eat and calculate what percentage of your calories were protein, cabs and fat.  Here are some tip to help:
  • Proteins are 4 calories per gram
  • Percentage of calories from Proteins should be 25%-40%
  • Carbohydrates are 4 calories per gram
  • Percentage of calories from Carbohydrates should be 30%-55%
  • Fats are 9 calories per gram
  • Percentage of calories from Fats should be 20%-30%
