Exercise for brain power! Starvation mode and what it means to your body! Make a commitment to yourself!

Our bodies are made to move! You need to get it moving every day. You may know that 30 minutes a day of walking reduces the risk of many serious diseases. But did you know that recent studies show that just 30 minutes a day of walking can even grow new brain cells! I don't know about you but I can use all the brain cells I can get! Add up your walking and see if you total 30 minutes a day. Count sessions longer than 5 minutes. A three step "walk" to get a drink of water doesn't count!

You may be in starvation mode and not even know it! If you go too long without food, usually more than about 5-6 hours, your body can go into starvation mode and hold on to body fat while using lean muscle for energy.
