Fit 045 Consistency & Motivation

Which came first? Consistency or motivation? Were you motivated to be consistent or were you consistent, saw results and were then motivated?

Whichever it may be, you need to maintain Consistency & Motivation to get in shape and stay in shape! Here's some ways to stay on track!

What helps motivation? These three things:
  1. Consistency
  2. Planning
  3. Purpose
Here are some guides to help you with motivation and consistency in our workouts!

Consistency
  1. Staying on track is motivating!
  2. Consistency brings results which are motivating as well!
  3. Think about the payoff of your workouts to improve consistency.
  4. Use your self talk to work for you.
  5. Your inner voice should encourage you!
  6. Listen to the little Personal Trainer on your shoulder (not the couch potato).
Planning
  1. Deadlines help increase motivation by creating a sense of urgency.
  2. Planning your workout cycles and having a set start and finish date will give you the urgency to stay on your plan.
  3. Having an endpoint relieves the mind of stress.
  4. Be realistic with your time and your plan.
  5. Remember, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail!
Purpose
  1. Knowing your purpose, what is that payoff for this work?
  2. Determine what motivates you. It can be different for everyone.
  3. Use the Fitness Jar for rewards.
